New Alice In Chains album out in September...oh and with new frontman!

Alice In Chains, one of the biggest bands from generation X, have finished recording their as yet unnamed forthcoming album due for release in September. A recent blogpost on their official site claims the record will return the band to “the top of the hard rock heap” with heavy hitting riffs contrasted with what could be the saddest song they have ever produced. This record will be the first studio recording by the band since 1995’s self titled Alice In Chains and since former frontman Layne Staley tragically died of a drug overdose by speedball in 2002.

Also, the band have found a replacement on vocals for the legendary Layne Staley in William DuVall. DuVall rose to fame through the hardcore punk scene in the bands Awareness Void Of Chaos and Neon Christ moving on to the Hendrix-inspired No Walls in the late 1980s before forming Mudfly and subsequently Comes With the Fall.
